Body, character, time and light – those are in fact main "characters” of my photos. I examin their mutual influences, coincidences, how they affect each other. Searching for ideal proportion of exposure time and light in order to catch a character, shape, space as I see them in my dreams – that's the most exciting task of my work.
From the beginning, when I started to make photos, time was the most important to me. It's influence on quality and form of reality frozen into picture. I'm fascinated by limitless possibilities of photography - „moments” start to exist thanks to it. I construct my cameras myself. I start counting and expose. Fascinting feeling…
I use in my photography a technique of pinhole camera, this is a process directly transfers an image on black & white photographic paper (fomaspeed) in order to create a negative photo. The positive image was created digitally from a scan of the negative image.
A pinhole camera is a camera without a conventional glass lens. An extremely small hole in a very thin material can focus light when all rays from a scene go through a single point. In order to produce a reasonably clear image, the aperture has to be about 1/100th the distance to the screen, or less. The shutter of a pinhole camera usually consists of a hand operated flap of some light-proof material to cover and uncover the pinhole.
