Handmade with Heart, Inspired by Memories and Faith
Crafting has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up in a small town in Illinois, I began sewing my own clothes in high school and attended my first craft show more than 40 years ago, sharing my crochet creations and handmade Christmas items. Over the years, I’ve worked with old quilts, dried flowers, and vintage lace, creating unique treasures for craft shows. My love for vintage has never faded, and I’m delighted to bring these timeless finds and handmade creations to my Etsy shop.
Losing my mother brought out a sentimental side of me that began to shine through in my crafting. Some of my fondest memories are of Mom and me watching hummingbirds together, so personalizing hummingbird feeders felt like a natural way to honor those special moments. My love for hummingbirds has continued to grow, and today, I connect with customers through memorial gifts, meaningful keepsakes, and vintage treasures that remind me of Mom and the memories we hold dear.
Faith has also found a special place in my creative journey. My sister’s deep love for Bible Scripture has inspired me to incorporate faith-filled messages and Scripture into my Etsy listings. Her love for God’s Word has encouraged me to create meaningful items that share hope, comfort, and inspiration with others.
In 2008, I purchased my nephew’s sign shop, where I kept busy lettering trucks and creating metal signs for our local community. I opened my Etsy shop in 2011, and while the sign business stayed busy, my heart was always drawn to handmade keepsakes. Local customers began commissioning unique, handcrafted pieces, and many of those ideas eventually found their way into new Etsy listings. Along the way, I’ve returned to working with vintage quilts, transforming them into special handmade treasures created just for my shop.
Now semi-retired, I’m enjoying more time doing what I love most—creating for my Etsy shop, spending time with my grandchildren, and searching thrift stores, flea markets, and yard sales for the perfect vintage finds. I’m always dreaming up new ideas and discovering ways to blend nostalgia, faith, and heartfelt sentiment into something special.
