Diversi anni fa i nostri vicini della porta accanto avevano un'enorme quercia abbattuta per errore. La società di rimozione degli alberi aveva sbagliato l'indirizzo e non è stato catturato in tempo. L'albero aveva più di 100 anni ed è stata un'enorme delusione per loro e per noi. Il legno è stato tagliato e i nostri vicini lo hanno tenuto nel loro cortile. Un paio di anni dopo, si sono trasferiti sull'isola di Vancouver e ci hanno regalato il resto del bosco. Fu allora che Darren ebbe l'idea di provare a fare una stampa come un modo per creare una sorta di ricordo e regalo per loro. Aveva visto qualcosa di simile e voleva provarlo. La nostra prima stampa è stata fatta esclusivamente da Darren (ora io, Pam, mi sono unito al processo) e lui ha fatto solo 4 stampe. Uno è stato spedito all'isola di Vancouver ed è arrivato per la mattina di Natale sulla soglia del nostro ex vicino.
È stato un processo piacevole e sperimentale continuare a creare le migliori stampe possibili. Avviare Nice Art People è stato un modo naturale per focalizzare la creatività che abbiamo sempre praticato.
Several years ago our next door neighbours had a huge oak tree cut down by mistake. The tree removal company had the address wrong, and it wasn't caught in time. The tree was over 100 years old, and it was a huge disappointment to them and us. The wood was cut up and our neighbours kept it in their yard. A couple years after that, they moved to Vancouver Island and gifted us the rest of the wood. It was then that Darren had the idea to try making a print as a way to create some kind of memory and gift for them. He had seen something similar and wanted to try it. Our very first print was made solely by Darren (now I, Pam, have joined in on the process) and he only made 4 prints. One was mailed to Vancouver Island and arrived for Christmas morning on our former neighbour's doorstep.
It has been an enjoyable and experimental process to continue to create the best prints possible. Starting Nice Art People was a natural way to focus the creativity we have always practiced.
