Wool solar dying in the desert sunshine.
Waiting for me to spin the coordinating ply yarn.
Plied with midnight blue Merino.
I hand dyed this Merino, silk & bamboo fiber. Super soft with a lovely sheen.
Crocheted with hand spun, hand dyed wool & silk yarn. Hand dyed silk chiffon embellishment.

Fiber junkie!!

It's all Kristine's fault.

A few years ago I dreamed a wrist warmer pattern. I wanted them to be extra special, so I used my friend, Kristine's, hand spun, hand dyed yarn. She finally got tired of me demanding more yarn ("Spin more, spin more, I need more yarn!!") and told me to learn to spin my own yarn. Hmph. ;-)

Soooo, I learned to spin my own yarn, and here I am! I must admit dying the yarn / fiber is my fave - it's like grown-up coloring book, sorta. It's very satisfying to take fiber from fluff to finished item. (Thank you, Miss Kris!)

10% of all 'Nida Kay Designs sales are donated. October 2014, 10% was donated to a local breast cancer center. November 2014 - March 2015, 10% is being donated to help feed the hungry in the Yucca Valley, Joshua Tree, 29 Palms area. Giving back is a blessing.
