🙋‍♂️ Hi, everyone! Let me tell you a little about myself. I was born and grew up in Georgia. I have always been surrounded by the beauty of nature. That's why in my artworks I often use planty and floral elements, which is best personify feminine and elegance

💎 Why cloisonné enamel?

I deeply respect the traditions and customs of my native country Georgia, as much as I love its rich cultural heritage. The era of cloisonné enamel is considered to be one of the oldest and unique branches of art in this country. This jewelry making technique is complex and requires a lot of patience, masterful handling of the materials and a good sense of colors. Cloisonné enamel was prevalent in Byzantium and was introduced to the culture of Georgia in the middle ages. Those were the times when this complicated branch of art that I studied in Tbilisi State Academy of Arts reached its golden age. For over 10 years now I have been working hard to further develop and promote this technique in our contemporary times. Working with enamel is a true science that grants many possibilities of expressing one’s ideas and a wide range of creative ideas to bring to life.

🛠 How is cloisonné enamel made?

The desired pattern is made on a silver basis with the help of thin silver wires or strips which form the cloisons. Enamel of different colors is poured into the made gaps. The prefabricated item is put into the kiln, where the enamel melts and gains a glassy surface. To achieve better hardiness, the item is processed 3-4 times in the temperature of 800-900°C. Lastly, the piece of art is polished until its surface turns smooth and shiny.

💰 What is the value of cloisonné enamel?

Decorative and colorful pieces of art made using the cloisonné enamel technique will always remain of high value as they are a specimen of many years of tradition and craftsmanship. I have spent years upon years researching and improving the existing cloisonné enamel technique. The items made by me are of great spiritual value and longevity due to the noble and durable materials I use and the skill and masterful knowledge I have of this craft.
