Love creating!
I loved fashion and making things as a child. My aunts were incredible knitters and my mother was amazing doing needlework. My mother as a young child in Greece worked for a tailor doing all the hand work involved back then. So she knew all the "formal" work to be done on an item and how to measure properly.
We could not afford a sewing machine when I was young so my mother and I made dresses for me by hand. A bit time consuming and not always perfect as on a sewing machine but it worked.
I had my 'big' break in High School! Back then there was still Home Economics offered as a course. I took sewing! LOVED IT! LOVED IT! My poor teacher,Sister Anita,I really gave her a challenge! I always picked out Vogue patterns, the hardest! Sometimes we would sit there the whole class hour and try to figure out the instructions! LOL! She loved the challenge and so did I! Senior year I was awarded the Sewing Award. I was shocked! Thank you Sister Anita!
I have been in retail,on and off, since I was twenty years old. Fifteen years ago I opened my boutique offering ready made clothing, jewelry and gift items. I still have my shop but now make all the clothing myself. Some clothing I make from a pattern but most are upcycled clothing which I make. I LOVE vintage linens, crochet and enjoy integrating them in my work.
I sew everything here in my shop during business hours and at night dream up ideas, cut fabric.
I always enjoyed shopping on Etsy and purchased many of my vintage crochet, lace, linens and fabric on here. I thought "why not join Etsy?" . Here I am!
I make items in various sizes, depends what idea I have in mind and what materials I have available for my idea. I do not make custom orders.
