From T-shirts to Tablets...
It all started with my obsession with T-shirts, believe it or not. There was a time when my favorite thing to do (see my oldest sales!) was to make shirts, design shirts, print shirts & sell shirts. It went pretty good, but I always had a million other project ideas I wanted to incorporate.
My home was full, literally, of projects I've tried with good & bad results, I just can't sit still! Friends started saying, "Oh, you should sell that!" and I thought that was flattering, but never really took it seriously.
Then one day I tried it.
And it worked! So I started putting anything & everything I wanted in my shop, not worrying at ALL about what the "theme" was or if everything matched, because you know what? These were the things I loved & loved to make, and THAT was my theme. Ba-Boom!
I've gone from Vintage items, to re-purposed items, parasols to canvas cut outs... it's been a great ride. Furniture was by far my FAVORITE thing to do, but it was such a challenge shipping those beasts! I intend to get back into furniture someday, it was so rewarding.
Oh, and the blog.. (http://NineRed.com) that... is also one of my favorite things to do & work on. But like I said, I can't sit still & blogging on a laptop qualifies as sitting still, so the projects continue...
Lately I'm obsessed with String Art, and making these wooden string art wall tablets. But I sense a new project on the horizon, that should be making an appearance soon. Who knows!
So that about brings you up to speed for my story, what started with me just having fun with T-shirts, morphed and developed into me having fun with string art tablets. My advice to anyone started a shop, is take a deep breath, don't worry so much, and just stay true to what you ENJOY doing.
