Artist Bio
Clarissa Passos signed her wood burning artwork created in 2013, as Ninikea.
Born and raised in Brazil, Clarissa has been a resident of the Hawaiian Islands since the year 2000. With a Bachelor’s degree in visual arts and a lifetime experience as an artist she is grateful to express her relationship with the Hawaiian Islands through a unique artwork.
Clarissa’s wood-burning artwork carries on a Hawaiian theme inspired by the ancient people who once inhabited the islands.
She is an established fine artist with artwork in many private and public collections worldwide along with a solid history of art shows and exhibitions in Brazil, her country of origin and the USA where she resides.
“My artwork is a celebration of life in harmony with nature.
A reminder to the importance of contemplating, connecting with the earth and
preserving the environment to remain healthy and happy.
The native peoples of all different cultures have a strong relationship with nature,
a connection that seems to be scarce in our modern world.
My images express my own need to live that way.
I chose to live in Hawaii to enjoy that connection.”
