Hey there fellow nurses (present and future)!
Welcome to Nurse Code. I am Catherine, the founder of Nurse Code.
I am a qualified Registered Nurse, with a background in emergency nursing, with several stints working within medical and surgical environments through various rural and tertiary facilities.
The idea of Nurse Code came about whilst facilitating a group of nursing students within the emergency department. As a nursing student, I would often carry around a pocket notebook and make my own laminated reference cards to refer to because let’s be realistic, nursing school is stressful enough without having to remember it all!
We as nurses often spend a substantial amount of time referring to reference guides, textbooks, flow charts and other online resources when seeking essential ‘need to know” information such as vital sign ranges, common pathology ranges or how to manage a Code Blue on your patient. It was during this time; I sadly discovered the significant lack of resources specific to nursing in Australia with many specific to other countries or overloaded with irrelevant information. I decided to “bite the bullet” and develop my own clinical reference cards, which I felt one day would serve as a valuable learning resource for nursing students and other nursing professionals.
Ultimately, our goal at Nurse Code is to create relevant, evidence based nursing resources that provide nurses and nursing students with swiftly accessible information they need whilst circumnavigating the complex world of nursing.
If you are looking for the ultimate nursing tool to get you through, this is it!
Once again, welcome to Nurse Code and wishing you all the best with your nursing journey!
