It all began when...
Dejé las empresas estadounidenses después de casi 30 años para pasar un par de preciosos últimos años con mi hija adolescente menor. Ella iría a la universidad antes de que me diera cuenta y quería ser más deliberado al pasar tiempo con ella durante sus últimos años de secundaria.
Mi carrera había sido en Operaciones de Ventas y Marketing, así que quería encontrar una nueva salida creativa. Saqué mi confiable máquina de coser que mi esposo me había regalado para el Día de la Madre un par de años antes e hice una colorida mochila con cordón y flores para mi hija. Lo usó TODOS los días en la escuela secundaria y siempre recibió elogios por él. Hice algunas para sus amigas y, antes de darme cuenta, otras me preguntaban: "¿De dónde sacaste esa adorable mochila?". La usaba para hacer recados, ir a la escuela, a la playa, al gimnasio, de vacaciones, y su mochila con cordón siempre llamaba la atención de quienes preguntaban: "¿Dónde puedo conseguir una?".
¡Voilá! Encontré mi nueva salida creativa y comenzó OC Cordones.
OC Cordones se dedica a obtener sus materiales de empresas estadounidenses y cada bolsa se fabrica aquí en el sur de California.

I left corporate America after almost 30 years to spend a couple of precious last years with my youngest teenage daughter. She would be going off to college before I knew it and I wanted to be more deliberate in spending time with her through her final high school years.
My career had been in Sales Operations and Marketing so I wanted to find a new creative outlet. I pulled out my trusty sewing machine that my husband had given me for Mother’s Day a couple of years earlier and made a colorful flowered drawstring backpack for my daughter. She wore it EVERY day to high school and always got compliments on it. I made a few for her friends and before I knew it, others were asking “Where did you get that adorable backpack?” She would wear it on errands, to school, to the beach, to the gym, on vacation, and her drawstring backpack consistently caught the eye of others who would ask, “Where can I get one?”
Voila! I had found my new creative outlet and OC Drawstrings began.
OC Drawstrings is dedicated to sourcing it's materials from U.S. companies and each bag is made right here in Southern California.
