OUAStylist – which is pronounced “wow-stylist” in the way a French person would pronounce those letters together or “I owe you a stylist” because those letters mean Once Upon A Stylist. Whichever way you prefer! They both suit me and my philosophy about life.
Indeed, the fun program I put together is called Inner-Beauty Styling. It is designed to accompany my clients on their road to self-realization!
Once you start working with me your life becomes the fairy tale you want it to be!
What do cosmetics have to do with Inner-Beauty?
Wellbeing in my opinion can only be complete if it’s whole-istic!
So in Inner-Beauty Styling we work from inside-out and also from outside-in!
Cosmetics became an integral part of my brand in 2015 when I discovered in a cosmetology class what was behind the complicated names on cosmetic long lists of ingredients with numbers and codes. The terrifying truth was that I had been polluting and poisoning my skin, hair and mouth with products from big brands I thought were high quality! (Only to understand that they were indeed high priced but the only healthy thing about some of them was the “natural” water they contained!)
That was it! I started doing more research and took training with a chemist in Paris to learn how to make my own. During class, I was already adapting the recipes to my own needs. In the make up class for instance, I changed the measurements in pigments to make the foundation powders match my particular skin tone.
Very quickly I started creating all the products I needed and even more! The limitless range of possibilities nature has to offer mesmerized me! I began experimenting. I even made a cream for breasts that make them swell a little because I used a component that is used in Africa also by athletes to define their muscles better!!! It’s incredible!
Something else you probably need to know about my personality: I can’t stand wasting time! So when I create something it has do what I want and more! So my products are always “as much as possible in one”!
If you take one of my latest creations: the Mermaid and Aquaman body scrub with freeze effect. While in the creation process, I was in the shower and washing my body when the following idea came to me: if I am to scrub my body, I will also scrub my legs… What if the scrub could be working on the unsightly « orange-peel » skin since the product will have to stay on skin at least the time I scrub?! Challenge accepted! It does, but not only! I had to try adding what I now call the “freeze” effect so that when you use it while taking a bath, it feels extraordinary – especially in the South where the weather is overwhelmingly warm! You’ll thank me! (More info about this particular cosmetic in the product description).
And then the circle of clients enlarged. Word of mouth attracted friends of friends, and then friends of friends of friends, etc!
And now, I’m back on the other side of the Atlantic pond! I left Paris when I got the green card in January 2018! Now my clientele is French and American! And now with Etsy, who knows! Maybe international soon!
