OVATUM

OVATUM is the creative outlet for my visual art.
I grew up and currently live in the redwoods of Santa Cruz California. From a young age I felt a strong sense of energy from the earth and quickly became attached to spending time in the woods. I feel the language of the forest speak through the strong presence of towering redwoods, the ebbed flow of wind passing through ferns and the ephemeral mists that pass through branches and leaves. The elements and their creations become a ground that I continually come back to and contemplate on. Through drawing I express these contemplations in abstract, often metaphorical ways to evoke the energy that inspired them.
Aside from drawing I am an active musician, skateboarder, and mountain biker. I play in a few different bands including Letharia, a Black/Doom-Metal band that I write, sing, and play guitar in.
