grandfather, boat builder and author

Like most fathers I made things for my children when they were little. When they were grown, I continued to build things for them, and now for their children as well. I have built sail boats, row boats, boats in bottles, Halloween costumes, glider airplanes and antique gun replicas among other things.
I am the author of six novels -- Kicked (2018), Instrument (2016), Pathogen (2015), A Strange Detached Fragment (2015), Accountable (2014 and The Ice and the Stars (2009). They are available on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Books-A-Million and in bookstores everywhere. I have been a science teacher, a planetarium director, a NASA lecturer and Executive Director of a Washington DC science and mathematics non-profit. I am now a grandfather, which is the highest office I have ever held.
