Announcement   Welcome to OldAndAbstract - Abstraction on the Way to Naturalism. When I moved to Philadelphia many years ago I was an abstract artist, pretty much dedicated to hard edge shapes and flat picture planes. But as soon as I got my own studio here my work became more organic. Eventually space and depth replaced shallow space. I spent about 20 years working in this style.

Today I'm a strictly naturalistic artist and my current work can be found at berkeleySU-Prints and Art From Nature. This store is a place to show and sell my older abstract work, work that I'm still very fond of. It was a step along the way. Most likely I'll never go back to abstraction but as an artist I know better than to tie myself down too firmly as to what I may or may not do.

I hope you enjoy this work. I remain very fond of it but it was time to move on.

Hi, and welcome to OldAndAbstract, the home of older abstract work by Philadelphia artist Ken Januski. All work shown here is abstract. My naturalistic work, which is what I've done since 2006, is also available on Etsy at berkeleySU.

Returns and exchanges
Undamaged Items can be returned within seven days of receipt. However If you're unsure of anything please contact me before purchase. It may be possible to include more detailed photos if that helps in making any decisions.

I should add that a computer screen, because of its light, will always make an artwork look brighter than it actually is. At the same time it will miss all of the tactile aspects of a real, held-in-the-hand object. My guess is that all in all you will find that the actual art work is more to your liking rather than less to your liking once you actually have it in hand.
Payment
Paypal,,credit cards and Etsy gift cards are accepted.
Shipping
I use USPS for shipping If you have a different preferred shipper please contact me and I'll let you know what the shipping costs would be using that shipper. For ease of pricing I only list USPS.

Generally I try to protect the artwork with either one or two pieces of foamcore or mat board. I then wrap it in plastic or glassine and ship in a bubble envelope. I may need to use a box instead for larger works.

I'm sorry for the perhaps shocking prices of shipping on some of the larger work. As far as I can tell that is the actual cost of the shipping due to the total size. I wish it weren't so. If you are interested in one of the larger works but scared off by the price of the shipping please contact me and I'll see if I can find a less expensive manner of shipping. Of course insurance will also make the price somewhat high but I need to include that due to the value of the work.
