There are many talented artisans on Etsy who offer unique and noteworthy products, including alcohol shelves. But there is nothing like what we do. This, among other things, was the starting point to try my hand at this e-commerce platform and offer the world my vision of wood products. Old Red Country House is an attempt to turn utilitarian everyday objects into works of art. We hope we succeeded.
What we stand on, what we believe in, and how we work:
• All furniture is made of solid wood. No MDF, OSB, any plywood, or other glued sawdust.
• The designs on the products are made by hand using paints. Design and concept are the author's.
• The wood from which the shelves are made is oak, ash, maple, pine, acacia, cherry, birch, etc. Details in the specific product description.
• The boards are attached to each other exclusively with metal fasteners without glue.
• Each product is unique, and copying 100% is problematic. But we can try to repeat the concept.
• The main coating is varnish or linseed oil. These are the minimum steps required to ensure that your wine, whiskey, or schnapps shelf lasts as long as possible. In general, we try to make furniture as natural as possible, so that the wood does not change its natural color and texture. We don’t cut anything extra, we leave knots and other features as Mother Nature intended.
And let me add a few words about our humble team. My name is Philip and I am in charge of working with wood. My wife Marina is engaged in applying drawings to finished products. We live in the countryside, right next to that old red house where we create our shelves. “Not a bad name for the store” – I told my wife. That's when we were clinking glasses. ) In general, this is a classic family business in a godforsaken place. But, we sincerely hope, it makes it no less interesting and in demand.
