Hi, I’m Omar Melendrez (omarklin) an artist from Enoch, Utah. I was born in 1980 in California, raised in Mexico for about 25 years, and been living in Utah since 2015. I specialize in phosphorescent art, which is art that glows in the dark. My work includes various mediums like canvas, paper, wood, resin, stones, and natural plants (mostly cactus and succulents).

My style is basically monochromatic usually black and white designs or to be more precise black and glow. A lot of artists love to use the whole rainbow in their artwork, in my case I love to use just one or two colors, I love the simplicity of it, the beauty of the minimum, but also I like to “spice up” my paintings with colorful glitters, in that way during the day you don’t see a bland monochromatic painting but a shimmering monochromatic painting full of sparkle.

The type of art that I paint is basically things that I like and includes vintage & religious illustrations, mandalas, optical illusions, mathematical art, surrealism, halftone photographs, double exposure animals, and space theme designs.

besides working on a canvas I also work with (natural) plants creating beautiful arrangements that glow in the dark without damaging the plants.

I do prints of photographs in poster and mini cute sizes.

I do metal embossing art mostly aluminum all by hand without any embossing stencils, dies or machines.

I cast clocks and little ornaments with resin.

I do kirigami and laser cut wood ornaments.

And just to clarify, everything that I do glows in the dark.
