The Spiral Man brand stands for the creative couple - husband and wife - Katalin and Madaras.
We live in Transylvania in a fairy tale house in a little village set in a picturesque landscape, where we are raising our two wonderful children and we are also creating - in the most professional manner - our hand crafted jewels.
Like I’we already had mentioned the Spiral Man is a project built on the coauthoring of two creative artists. Thus the curvy rounded spiral represents Katalin who dreams, draws and paints the designs onto the brass surfaces or fills the small wirebounded spaces with glass powder that is going to end up in an enamel furnace melt at 850 degrees Celsius in order to create the finite enamel jewelry surface, and myself, Péter represented by the rectangular spiral. I am doing exclusively the mechanical working of the metal using several techniques like cutting, filigree, embossing, grinding, and polishing.
The designs and motifs of our jewels are deeply rooted in and inspired by our childhood story books and their illustrations as well as the traditional Hungarian folk art that has been handed down for hundreds of years from generation to generation. From this large pool we are trying to create a unique vision of our own, a heritage that we can proudly hand down to future generations.
