OnceFelt

The last name Filzen means "felt" - in more ways than one. From the old German filz/vilz, the name carries the memory of crafting and of feeling. In my shop, I give new life to fabrics and fibers, channeling the same ancient care that once created one of the oldest textiles (felt), while I also shape what’s felt in us: memories, emotions, reflections. Each piece is a hand-made echo of both what is felt and what endures, as the fabrics I use are up-cycled from pre-worn and donated clothing. While they were once felt by another, the scraps I stitch together create a story made by dozens of others, repurposed as a novel item for your closet. Thanks for visiting!
