Once Upon A Bustle
I began my Etsy shop "Once Upon a Bustle" because I have always wanted to make beautiful items for people to enjoy all over the world.
I personally hand tailor each item that I sell....from start to finish. I mostly create one of a kind menswear pieces, I do create womens wear as well, but my first love has always been menswear. I see my creations as art, I do not see the items that I create as merely clothing. I look at and approach each item that I make as an artist, and each creation as my artwork and the final product as an investment for my customer. Each piece is made with extra fabric hidden on the inside of the garment. The reason I do this is so that my pieces can be altered to be made larger (or smaller) over time. This way I ensure that my pieces will last and be a functioning part of my customers wardrobe for many years to come.
Since opening my shop in 2010, I have created items for Independent Films, Celebrity Photo Shoots, Museums, been featured in several blogs, and have made pieces for clients that have appeared on Television. I am the costume designer for the band Steam Powered Giraffe as well as Glenn Hetrick's (judge on reality show Face-Off) personal tailor. I am also a professional prototype costume fabricator for Sideshow Collectibles, in which I create costumes for 1/6th scale and 1/4 scale collectible figures. (comic characters and super heroes, movie characters)
