I started my Etsy shop after the economic crisis in 2008, when credit was frozen, galleries were unable to buy, and my husband was laid off. It was an unexpected success! We were able to keep our home during the 11 months of unemployment, and I found a real passion for selling my work online. Prior to selling on Etsy, I sold wholesale to top American fine art and craft galleries. Etsy gave me the opportunity to make exactly what I want to make and list it for sale individually. I no longer needed a gallery owner's approval, and my funky organic style with whimsical woodland themes found a new audience in young shoppers who frequent the internet more than galleries.
I soon became a top selling Etsy ceramicist. I have since branched out to LeeWolfePottery.com -my website- as my social media skills have grown.
I have refined my designs over decades of studio time and an inborn predilection for the marriage of function and art. I am a trained artist and designer with a great passion for having objects in my world that are meaningful and supportive of my highest ideals and aspirations. I make choices with conscientious intention in every aspect of my ceramic work, and thus do not welcome offers to make custom work that requires variations of my own designs. I love knowing that my work brings joy to those who own it. It may not be exactly what you were looking for but, for the right person, it will become exactly what you cannot live without!
