Mother Becomes Artist
This born and raised Lake Superior native grew up in Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula on the Keweenaw Bay Indian reservation. Laurie spent most of her childhood in the woods and on shores of Lake Superior. She has always loved the outdoors; exploring + connecting with untouchable grounds and listening to the trees, animals and wind around her.
The now city established mother was determined to share the culture she loved most with her daughters by spending the summers traveling the Great Lakes with them, finding new beauty through natural materials collected and sleeping under the stars!
In 2014, One Earth Exchange was born showcasing hand-crafted collectables through an online shopping experience. Each design reflects Laurie's spirit and culture not only by using the raw materials sourced responsibly but in her quality of craftsmanship which she continues throughout the creating process. As a selling artist, OEE has grown to give local customers a more personal shopping experience by selling at prestige outdoor markets and pow wow's around the Great Lakes Region.
Her jewelry is grounding, mood changing and a piece of nature to cherish for a lifetime!
