OneSEC Jewelry <3
I remember in fourth grade it was FINALLY my turn to be student of the week. It was the week I got to pick the Friday snack, the week where my fellow students wrote me handwritten letters and the week I got to read the mysterious letter my parents were requested to write about me at the beginning of the school year.
That Friday, after we ate our fudge stripe cookies (my favorite), I stood up to read the letter that my parents wrote about me, their youngest daughter. I could tell from the beautiful script handwriting that my mother wrote the letter and I remember the first sentence so vividly and clearly as I read it aloud, "Stephanie is our 'creative' youngest child."
In fourth grade, I didn't know what my mom meant by 'creative'. I didn't know that she thought my handwritten picture novels, my cooking and baking attempts, my photo scrapbooks and my makeup and dress-up attempts were all sparks of my 'creativity'. I didn't recognize my own creativity until I started planning my 2012 April wedding.
My wedding was an amazing vintage-like DIY project with a handmade guestbook, lace-wrapped candles, heart-punched napkins, heart-stickered bubble bottles, vintage framed photos, a handmade seating chart and DIY heart punched direction-cards (PS. I LOVE hearts- they're symbolic, simple and beautiful).
Post-wedding, I truly missed working on all of the wedding projects that I created from scrap. I never complained one time that I had to come home from work to then 'work' on my wedding. I loved every minute of it. Thank goodness my sister and two best friends are getting married in 2013 but I still had a voided gap that I needed to fill. "One S.E.C" is my way of filling that gap.
I chose "One S.E.C" as my shop name because I wanted to personalize the store name with my newly appreciated full name : Stephanie Elizabeth Crooks.
I hope you enjoy my shop!
