studio of a queer artist
Hello, I'm Gabriel.
I'm a UK-based artist originally from Hungary. Growing up, I carried a lot of fear and confusion around being gay, something that continues to influence my work today.
My recent work focuses on male beauty, vulnerability, emotion and identity.
Many of the people and moments in my work come from real life, real attraction, real connection and real heartbreak. Each piece has its own story, and I usually share part of it in the artwork description.
Through traditional media, I try to create images that feel honest and human, showing queer attraction in a different way. One collector recently described them as "images that stay with you long after you looked at them".
Someone else said my art is where "Eastern European academic art training meets Western queer identity". Without wanting to make my work too political, I think that line captures something very important.
Art can make people feel seen in a way arguments and politics often can't. Through my work, I explore queer identity and male beauty in a way that feels personal and relatable, creating space for vulnerability, connection and self-expression.
If you'd like to chat, discuss a commission or have any questions, I'd love to hear from you.
