I’ve been drawing and painting since childhood, usually focusing on nature and the outdoors with inspiration from landscape painters like the Group of Seven.
The idea for painting on ball ornaments came from our family Christmas tree which was always brightly coloured (no plain white lights here), and my grandparents’ tree which was red and white with cardinals and chickadees in the branches. I loved the idea of giving homemade presents, and they were a hit with friends and family. I still paint those bird ornaments, but most recently I have been busy painting custom portraits of homes and beloved places for people around the world through my Etsy shop.
Custom home ornaments are the perfect way to commemorate a house or a place, whether it is your first home purchase, a cottage, an apartment building, or a family home for many years. I’ve also been painting views, landscapes, cityscapes, and engagement spots… because everyone has a place they’d like to remember.
