About

For the love of vintage...

I have been an admirer of antiques most of my adult life.
As a young girl and well in to my adult life, I would accompany my parents on many treasure hunts. These would consist of hot summer days at county fairs, farm auctions, flee markets, estate sales and garage sales.
My father had a love and deep appreciation for fine antiques. I would often find him in his shop refinishing, reupholstering and restoring antique furniture as a hobby, in his spare time. My mom loved to collect fine china and vintage glass and collected it for years. One day she ran out of room and decided to open a shop of her own. She had an antique store for many years and really enjoyed it. This love for old, beautiful things was passed on to me. I hope you will enjoy my shop, Orange Zebra Designs.

DISCLAIMER FOR USED AND VINTAGE ITEMS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A great deal of my items are made with vintage and used, previously owned pieces. In most cases, these items are not new, and have had previous lives. Therefore one should not expect "perfect" condition. Even new glass can have manufacturing "marks".
I have a discerning eye and am quite selective in choosing my pieces so that normal signs of wear are kept to a minimum. Simply put, If I wouldn't be proud to display it myself, it wont be in my shop.
Expect there to be light scratches due to utensil marks. There are times that a piece was stored and never used and has no signs of wear. This is the exception, not the rule. Air bubbles in glass are common with vintage glass, or other minor things that are common during the manufacturing process. It is especially common for vintage milk glass to have swirl marks and seams from the glass molds I do not consider these to be defects.
Please look closely at pictures as these are an important part of my descriptions. Ask questions before purchasing.
