Certified organic clothing in classic, timeless and trendy styles

Organic Convert Designs (OCD) began as an idea in 2010 after a search for certified, organic clothing in classic styles came up empty. I found a lot of lovely, casual, yoga-type organic clothing out there but not a lot for those of us who want to dress a bit more classic, trendy or professional but don't want to wear a polyester suit (derived from petroleum). So, while I worked as a research librarian, I took pattern drafting classes and began designing and sewing my own organic clothes to wear (business suits, dresses, skirts, pants, button down blouses, etc.). It's taken me a while (I'm the tortoise not the hare) but it's been a total labor of love and I've enjoyed every second of it.

My shop is not about selling pretty clothes (I hope you think they're pretty). There are a lot of pretty clothes out there. My shop is about offering clothes that are made with GOTS certified organic fabric in classic, timeless styles for those who want or need them.

If you can't wear certain fabrics or clothing due to illness or chemical sensitivity, please contact me with any questions. I've done a lot of research due to my own needs in this area and select only quality organic fabrics to use for my designs but I understand we all have different reactions to things. So, please contact me and I'll do my best to help you out if you have any concerns.

My personal motto: "Even the smallest stone makes a ripple in the water."

So, I welcome more shops to open and offer GOTS certified clothing so we can all wear clothes that aren't made with fabric that has been created and processed with pesticides, toxins and chemicals that are unhealthy for us all.

Most of the items in my shop are "made to order" in an attempt to use my time efficiently, not waste precious fabric and be sustainable as possible. I prefer not to create a bunch of clothes in a bunch of sizes that just sit waiting for someone to buy them. Each item I create is made for you with lots of thoughtfulness and excitement for being able to share my organic clothing with others!

Please check back often to see my creations and thank you SO MUCH for choosing organic!

Returns and exchange details
My main priority is for you to be happy with your purchase. If you are not happy you may exchange it for something else.

Please contact me within 1 week of receiving your purchase to arrange an exchange.

You will be responsible for return shipping charges for any exchanges.

The item you are returning for exchange must not have been washed or worn while smoking or wearing any perfumes or clothing that was washed with fabric softeners.
I prefer payment through PayPal. :)

But you can use any of the payment options listed under Shop Policies.
I try to fill all orders immediately and get them off to you as soon as possible. If for some reason there is a delay, I will let you know.

Please note: Postal prices have gotten crazily expensive (especially internationally) so I try to keep the price as low as possible by choosing the least expensive shipping price (usually USPS First Class). This means keeping the weight of the item as low as possible.

If the actual shipping cost is considerably lower than what you were charged, I will refund the excess shipping costs (after minor deductions for materials & processing expenses).

Sometimes the cost will include tracking information for US orders (which I will pass along to you when it ships) but it is not always offered, particularly for international orders.

*** Please let me know if you would like your order to be shipped in a particular way and I will be happy to do that. And I will let you know if there will be additional shipping costs. ***
Additional policies and FAQs
The quality of the fabric I use is my biggest priority. I have done a lot of research and selected the best Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified organic cotton I can find and I am always on the hunt for new sources. Most of my products will only use GOTS certified fabric. If I use a fabric that is not GOTS or is a blend, I will make a note of it on the product page.

To learn more about the huge differences between organic & non-organic fabrics (toxic chemicals used):

If you have chemical sensitivities or need more information about the organic fabrics I use, please contact me. I'd be happy to answer any questions.
