Adding a Sense of Special
It began as a compelling hobby -- I saw beads I liked, experimented with design, created jewelry, wore it, gave it as presents. I began to get comments and questions from friends and colleagues: "Where did you get that?" Or from strangers on the street: "I like your necklace; where did you get it?"
Eventually, my passion for making jewelry mushroomed; I felt driven to search for interesting and beautiful beads, or simple beads that would work well with more elaborate ones––good design, I believe, thrives on having great choices and winnowing from many options, a lot of experimentation, and seeing what works best with what. Every piece I make is one-of-a-kind.
I have successful home studio sales once or twice a year, have my jewelry featured in high-end shops in Greater Boston, and participate in Artists Open Studios in Brookline, where I live. My home studio sales and town's Artists Open Studios are fun for me and all the women (and occasional men) who come, peruse, schmooze, and buy. I feel good creating beautiful things that give women a special come-hither sense and encourage them to strut their stuff.
