Making Heirloom Quilts For The 21st Century
Quilting is such a fascinating craft; such a complex mix of tradition, utility, and artistic expression. The opportunities for learning and new application are endless-- I fall asleep at night thinking through new quilt patterns and I wake up in the morning ready to try out new ideas. I love the challenge of turning a simple quilt pattern into a complex project through color choices, and I'm constantly challenging myself to mix fabric textures. Right now I'm excited to be working on original intricate appliqué projects using a variety of fabrics, and I'm working on a new grand scale venture converting my own nature photography into abstract pixelated quilts using detailed color blocking.

Frequently asked questions
Can I buy yardage of your amazing fabric?
In order to create a special one-of-a-kind quilt, I have had many of these fabric designs privately printed for my own personal use. The fabric itself is not available for sale by the yard and is not commercially available anywhere.
When will my quilt arrive?
Your quilt will be custom made especially for you and you can expect it to ship 4 weeks from the date of your order (quilts marked READY TO SHIP will ship in 1 or 2 days); this information can be found under the "Shipping & Policies" tab inside each listing.
You'll receive a notification with a tracking number from Etsy as soon as it's on its way. In the meantime, if you click on the "You" tab at the top right of the Etsy site, you can check out all of your purchases (including shipment eta and tracking info) under "Purchases and reviews".
Thank you for understanding that I'm personally making each and every quilt by hand to your custom specifications, and that kind of attention to detail takes time.
Do you take custom orders?
I love to take on custom work (nonrefundable 50% deposit required upon initial agreement) and I do so as often as my project queue allows at any given time. Whether or not I can take on a project depends on the size of the quilt, the level of intricacy involved, and the availability of materials. If you see something listed for sale that you would simply like in a different color scheme, that's typically a request I can easily accommodate. If you're looking for something truly custom, or if you'd like a one-of-a-kind memory quilt made from articles of treasured clothing, please contact me with details and we'll see if we can work out a timeframe.
What size quilts do you make?
It varies by quilt - each listing specifies all the sizes available in that pattern. I typically make three sizes: a 35" x 27" baby wrap, a 52" x 35" crib size, and a 70" x 52" adult couch size. If you're interested in one of theses sizes and it's not available for a particular quilt, please contact me and let me know. I don't often make custom "in between" sizes simply because the fabric I use is very expensive and I try to minimize scrap waste. I'm not currently making quilts large enough for a full, queen, or king size bed. It's never a bad idea to pull out a measuring tape and actually physically measure to make sure a specific quilt or quilted throw will meet your sizing needs.
Care instructions
All of the quilts listed in my shop are made with materials designed to be machine washed and dried. You can certainly hand wash and line dry if you prefer, but please feel free to toss it in the wash on a warm temperature setting and then throw it in the dryer on low heat with confidence. I don't recommend hot water, high heat, or any kind of iron.
Gift wrapping and packaging
Are you having your quilt purchase sent directly to a loved one as a gift? Yay! Aren't you wonderful! I'm more than happy to add a personalized note with your quilt-- simply add what you'd like your note to read in the "Message to Seller" box at checkout and I'll take care of the rest. I never include any price or invoice information in your order (unless it's specifically requested).
All quilts will be carefully folded and sealed inside a large plastic storage bag; in the event that your Priority Mail box or mailer is inadvertently left in a wet environment, the watertight bag is going to protect the quilt inside.
Do you make pillow shams? Sheets? Crib bumpers? Bedskirts?
No. I only make the quilts and blankets you see listed in my shop.
What happens if you send me a design proof of a personalized design and I don't reply?
If you order a quilt and select the free personalization option, I will reach out to you via Etsy messaging within a couple of days with an example of your personalized design. If I don't receive a response from you within 48 hours, I will complete your quilt using my best artistic judgment.
On another note, once you approve your design proof, it is final. Please double-check the spelling of your personalization because once your design is finalized, we can't change it.
My international order hasn’t arrived yet.
Al international orders are shipped via USPS. The USPS and its international partners are under enormous duress this year due to covid-driven increased online shopping, and longer delays are being experienced worldwide. Unfortunately there isn’t anything I can do to change the current postal situation. Please allow four to six weeks for your international package to arrive.
