Loving vintage everything!
I grew up with grandparents who were farmers. They lived in a huge old farm house with a big wrap around porch and many screen doors. My Mamaw always had a garden, chickens and their baby chicks running around, the smell of fresh food. Heaven is how I refer to it now. She cooked wonderful Czech food....homemade fruit filled kolaches were my favorite. My love of old things came from her, Emily (although I didn't really know it at the time). To make extra money, she would hold yard sales with little trinkets of old. I loved it. She would let me "shop" and I would find my treasures. Oh the memories run deep.
Even today, my love for all things old still exist. I have had so many collections over the years and as I have aged, those collections change. My mother, my aunt and I all have the fever....it's actually starting to trickle down to my oldest daughter who just turned 30. Generations of love for all things old. To me, that is LOVE.
My newest love is wood. I am loving old cheese boards, dark wooden bowls...it's so funny, a few weekends ago, my girlfriend and I were out going to a few of our favorite thrift stores...I spotted this great wooden fruit bowl...a steal for $8. She bought it. What did I come home with? A rescue puppy from the humane society. Her name is Gracie and I am smitten!
