PRESSDD ist ein Design- und Buchdruckstudio mit Sitz in Cleveland, OH. Gegründet von Giorgia Katerina durch ihre Liebe zu Papier und Schrift. Jeder Artikel wird von Anfang an handgefertigt. Beginnend mit dem ersten Design, dem Scherenschneiden, Pressen, Ritzen und Verpacken - alles wird von Giorgia selbst erledigt. Alle Papierwaren werden auf einer alten 1912 Chandler & Price handgespeisten Plattenpresse gedruckt.
Der Buchdruck ist ein sehr detailorientierter Prozess, der Zeit und Sorgfalt für jedes Stück Papier erfordert, das der Presse zugeführt wird. Wirklich eine zeitlose Kunst.
Giorgia, die hauptsächlich als Grafikdesignerin begann und derzeit freiberuflich tätig ist, beschloss, ihrem Studio aus dem Wunsch nach materiellen Gütern den Buchdruck hinzuzufügen. Das Entwerfen von Logos / Branding-Materialien und Einladungen zu besonderen Anlässen sowie die Arbeit mit Websites und Code - sie fühlte eine Lücke in ihrem Handwerk. Auf der Suche nach etwas mehr, mit einer echten persönlichen Note, beschloss sie, den Buchdruck zu übernehmen und kann sich nicht vorstellen, wie das Leben ohne sie aussehen würde.
PRESSDD is a design and letterpress studio based in Cleveland, OH. Founded by Giorgia Katerina through her love of paper and type. Each item is handmade from the very beginning. Starting with initial design, paper cutting, pressing, scoring, and packaging - all is done by Giorgia herself. All paper goods are printed on a vintage 1912 Chandler & Price hand-fed platen press.
Letterpress printing is a very detail-oriented process, taking time and care for each piece of paper fed into the press. Truly a timeless art.
Giorgia, starting mainly as a graphic designer and currently freelancing, decided to add letterpress printing to her studio out of a desire for tangible goods. Designing logos/branding materials and special occasion invitations in addition to working with websites and code - she felt a void in her craft. Wanting something more, with a true personal touch, she decided to take on letterpress and can't imagine what life would be like without it.
