My Creations…Your Complements.
Who: Hello, I’m Rebecca, Chief Packrat here at Packrat Patch. I am a clutter blind Virgo who loves the color purple, animals, nature, sweet tea, thrift stores and adding to my crafty stash. I have S.O.S. (Shiny Object Syndrome). I am always striving for contentedness (and craving chocolate)! I’ve been crafting for as long as I can remember. Whether it was very simple craft kits for kids, or later, tackling instructions that were so complicated I wanted to pull my hair out, they were all an artistic outlet and learning process for me.
What: I’ve done a lot of different crafts through the years…jewelry, cross stitch, sewing, stuffed animals, crochet, and quilting, to list my more favorites.
When: I’ve always had some kind of project going in the background of my life. It’s so nice that when life starts getting a little overwhelming, I can pick up a project and my mind is calmed while creating something tangible to be enjoyed for years to come either in my life and home or as a gift for someone else’s.
Where: I create my jewelry in my home studio in the United States. It surrounds me in artistic possibilities and allows me to be as chaotic, cluttered and carefree as I need to be.
Why: For years, family, friends and even strangers have told me that I ought to sell what I make. Through the years, I have, a little here and a little there, though I didn’t really put a lot of effort into it. After all, “life” was happening all around me. Now, I realize that crafting is a part of who I am, both personally and professionally, so I am embracing the challenges, excitement and peace of crafting on a business level.
