A Stitch In Time Saves

I am on a mission from God-dess. Well yes, aren't we all? I am driven to use creativity, textile art and stitch to solve the world's problems as I see them. As an alternative to "fast fashion" I create "slow" garments utilizing salvaged cashmere's and woolens. I sometimes hand-dye them and always utilize my own designs and patterns. As an alternative to a "throw away" culture I create heirloom quality pieces that are funky, yet timeless in style and design. I also create one of a kind artwork intended to bring joy and inspiration to the art appreciator.
I used to think I needed to focus on one clear direction. (Stick to the knitting machine, only do nuno-felting, or create only with salvaged wools and cashmere.) I no longer feel that way. I now know that my life is about bringing it all together in new and creative ways. In this way I have learned and continue to utilize a wide variety of techniques and materials in my work. This is what keeps me interested and passionate about what I do. And hopefully it keeps my work new and interesting for you too!
