5 out of 5 starsThis was very well designed and easy to assemble. It takes a decent amount of time to cut everything out cleanly, but the time is worth it. Very pleased with the final mask.

Frequently asked questions
Q: What do I get if I buy a pattern?
A: You'll get a downloadable PDF file which contains the pattern, build instructions in English and picture of the completed model.
Q: How easy is it to make a paper model or sculpture?
A: Quite easy really - provided you take your time and enjoy it. The instructions show the best order to build things and the pattern itself is designed to be as intuitive as possible. I also include some 'getting started' instructions for beginners which explain how to read the pattern, how to cut out, score and fold them.
There's also a getting started video on my YouTube channel (https://youtu.be/i5SB12ewY5w) which gives some additional handy tips.
Q: How long does it take to build a model?
The description in each shop listing shows how many parts the model has and gives an estimate of the build time. A rule of thumb I use is to say that each part takes about 10 minutes (to cut out, score, fold, glue and assemble) so a mask with 6 parts, for example, could be done in about an hour once it's been printed.
Q: Do you build and test all of your models before they are listed in your shop?
A: Yes, each paper model is usability tested by me before being listed in my shop. I print, cut out, score, fold and assemble each design to make sure that it's easy as possible to build. Usually each model goes through a couple of revisions before being listed. I also write the instructions after building the model so that I can highlight the best order to make it.
Take a look at my YouTube channel (https://youtu.be/7a6vKcRnydA) to see how I design the models.
Q: What tools do I need?
Printer. If your printer does not support printing onto cardstock then you'll need to use the pattern as a template
Scissors or craft knife
Scoring tool (e.g. dried ball point pen, paper clip...)
Ruler
Q: Are the patterns compatible with US Letter and A4 size?
A: Yes. The pattern should be printed actual size and will work for both US Letter and A4. There's also a check line on each page to make sure that your pattern is the correct size.
Q: What materials do I need?
Craft card/paper either A4 or US Letter size (210 gsm / 280 micron / 110lb index / 80lb cover or thicker preferred) or reclaimed card to be ECO friendly
School/PVA white glue
Q: Are the models coloured?
A: Most of the models are not coloured. This allows you to decorate it in any way you please. I try to show some design ideas in each listing to help you.
Some models are textured though so you'll need to print those on a colour printer. The textured models also contain the pattern in non-textured form so you can even decorate that if you wish.
Q: What kind of paint should I use to decorate my model.
A: Definitely acrylic paints; either liquid craft ones or artist acrylic paints in tubes are by far the best. They offer a good range of colours and are cheap to buy.
Acrylic spray paint can also be used if you want a quick and uniform finish but you need a well ventilated and contained area for spraying.
Q: Do your masks fit adults or children.
A: Either. The pattern is designed to fit an adult male head (and to be large enough for 99% of the population) but if you want to scale it for a small child then you simply reduce the scale when printing. The instructions describe how to do this in more detail. All of the masks have a headband template as well to give you a snug fit.
