On Paper, Love, and Making
I’m Dafna Yarom, an artist and designer whose work explores the emotional and material language of paper, word, and form.
My connection to paper began during my studies at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem, where I discovered papermaking as both a material practice and a quiet, reflective space. Over time, this fascination grew into a long-term artistic path, one that continues to shape my work today.
With a background in graphic design, packaging, and corporate identity, I later brought this sensibility to Etsy, initially as a personal project. What began as paper jewelry gradually evolved into a broader body of work centered on handmade keepsakes, meaningful gifts, and visual expressions of love.
More recently, my practice has expanded to include a new series of LOVE artworks printed on canvas, allowing me to give fuller expression to my identity as an artist, beyond functional design. Through color, typography, and painterly composition, these works explore how a single word can carry intimacy, memory, and emotional presence within a space.
As part of this exploration, I embrace artificial intelligence as a contemporary creative tool, approached with curiosity, authorship, and intention. Language guides the technology much like a hand guides a brush, enabling a process of dialogue, refinement, and choice. The result is work that exists at the intersection of craft and innovation, tradition and the present moment.
In 2010, I authored Creative Paper Jewelry, published in the USA by Sixth & Spring Books - a milestone that affirmed my commitment to paper as both medium and message.
Today, PaperJewelryDesign offers sentimental keepsakes and LOVE artworks, thoughtfully refined and often chosen for anniversaries, long-distance love, weddings, housewarmings, and quiet personal milestones.
The shop continues to grow organically, guided by intention rather than trends, and shaped by the people and moments it is created for.
Thank you for being here, and for choosing objects created with attention, memory, and heart.
