Paper Liberated began with the humble intention of bringing delight to gift givers and those they've chosen to share with. Maybe a custom monogram given on a special day, a first year anniversary gift between soul-mates, or a memorable work of art to accent your expressive nature. A playful rendition of the simplest of materials, a gift from Paper Liberated is usually the first introduction to modern quilling for most.
And to be sure, it is quilling in its simplest form, without the use of any tools or traditional quilled shapes. My fingers, a small pair of scissors and tweezers are the small bits of production equipment in use here. Each strip of a care-filled collection of shades in sixty-five pound card stock is cut by hand to a half of an inch for added depth and personality then hand curled and finger rolled to order.
But that's not where the magic begins, of course. The real brilliance of each and every piece of art starts with you. When you share what inspires you to give... a nephews birthday or a daughters first apartment. When you ask to re-express the emotion in a personal photo you've sent. And when you know what feeling you want to evoke with a shade of Pumpkin and a punch of Sunglow. The most loved pieces to come out of Paper Liberated have been the beautiful result of our collaborative creativity.
