PaperPaintPixels — Art for the Early Years, When Curiosity Takes Root, Made in Somerset
The pictures on a child's wall are more than decoration. They are the first things a child notices when they wake up — the animals they name, the letters they learn, the worlds they imagine before they can read. That quiet, daily magic shapes how a child sees the world; it matters more than we often realise.
I'm Carolyn, the illustrator behind PaperPaintPixels. From my studio in the Somerset countryside, I create work rooted in the belief that the early years are a sacred window for nurturing curiosity.
Every design is built around wonder: alphabets, animals, and botanical details that invite questions and grow with a child. These aren't pieces you’ll paint over when they turn three; they are heirlooms designed to last a childhood and beyond.
To ensure this longevity, I use 100% cotton rag paper and archival pigment inks — the same materials trusted by museum curators. When kept from direct sunlight, these colours remain rich and true for decades. These prints are made for a lifetime, not a season.
Most pieces can be personalised, creating a meaningful anchor for a new baby, a christening, or a first bedroom. Every print is hand-finished and carefully packaged by me in Somerset, ensuring that the experience of opening your art is as thoughtful as the work itself.
Children deserve to be surrounded by beautiful, curiosity inspiring things. I hope my work finds a place in your home.
