🎨 My Story 🎨

Hi! I'm Lori Melliere, the pen-and-ink, watercolor, and digital artist behind Papermill Creative. I'm a former librarian and local history nerd, and am intrigued with all the things that make a place feel grounded and unique: its history, its architecture, its native flora and fauna, and the people who live there.

I also love things like Richard Scarry's busy world, fantasy maps, fairy houses, cute lil Christmas villages, and woodland animals that ride tandem bikes and live in little hobbit homes, so that whimsical, detailed, maximalist aesthetic spills over into a lot of my work.

📦 Where I Work 📦

I research, create, print, package, and ship everything out of my backyard studio shed in Durham, North Carolina. It's my dream space and is as functional as it is bright, airy, and cute.
