A bookworms journey from fashion to paper
Hi everyone, thank you for taking the time to visit my shop. My name is Nicola. I am a bookworm, designer, avid purchaser of stationery and clothes and recent new mum to my beautiful baby daughter.
I started selling on Etsy as a side project back when I was a newlywed living in London. I worked as a high street fashion designer at the time which I absolutely loved, but was looking to work on my own projects outside of my day job. My first listing included the wedding stationery I created for my own big day.
In the 2020 lockdowns I had a lot of time to think about what sort of products I would like to make and where I would like this to go longer term. I was no longer working in fashion (there are only so many nights you can stand at a train station watching as all of your trains home get cancelled), and it was more important than ever for me to have a creative outlet. I chose wrapping paper as my starting point as it would allow me to create patterns and designs that I was passionate about and keep those skills from getting rusty, while also being a more affordable option for me to print and keep in stock than fashion and textile items.
I absolutely love working on my stationery designs. I often revisit my favourite themes of books and vintage fashion, and always aim to get a bit of humour into my work if I can.
