You Reap What You Sew!
My name is Dana. Welcome to my shop!
I have been sewing and designing since I was in elementary school. As a child I loved to draw and carried a notebook with me wherever I went filled with drawings of clothing--especially evening and formal wear. It was my dream to move to New York and design women's clothing and become the next Christian Dior!
Well, eventually I did move to New York, went to design school, and soon realized that there was very little creativity involved in working for a big design house. I decided to do something on my own. Though most of my focus had been on women's fashion, I had also dabbled in children's wear design and realized that it would make more sense to create a "collection" of clothing in infant to 5 years sizes than it would be to make a collection for women and so Paradis Found Designs was born.
I have always enjoyed using non-traditional fabrics for my design projects so I focused on mid-century cotton blankets--specifically camp blankets--for the core pieces in my first collection. Later I added coordinating pieces to mix and match and create ensembles. As the collection grew I added vintage chenille to the mix and continued to add more styles, including toys and pillows.
Today I have an array of different styles in clothing and accessories--from hats to booties. I like versatility so not only do I make each item one-of-a-kind, I also make the clothing and accessories reversible! Each and every piece that I sell is handmade by me and has been since I started my company in 1998.
I take great pride in my work and have had the privilege of dealing with some wonderful customers through the years. The items I produce, while being durable and comfortable, are intended to be keepsakes--the mementos of a childhood. They are couture-quality with fine finishes and details that are timeless and made to last through generations. In fact, they already have! Many of my customers share stories of items being passed from one child to another so my wish has been realized!
My hope is to meet a new audience through Etsy and continue to create new and unique designs! I love feedback and hope to hear from you!!
