ANNOUNCEMENT - Are you looking for REALLY rare plants and wondering why they aren't here?
Visit our Website for a much bigger selection! Why? Read on. . .
Etsy has decided to punish LICENSED AND PERMITTED SELLERS after being pressured by the IUCN to crack down on plant selling regulations. Their lazy attempt is to implement a useless algorithm that flags listings INSTEAD of doing the work to gather proper permits from sellers and create a network of legal sales. This is how we wage war against poaching- we reward the responsible growers, weed out the unlicensed ones, and corner the poachers right out of the market! If you cannot find a plant here, please go to our website, www.paradisefoundnursery.com

Greetings!

HEAT PACKS:
-It is up to the customer to monitor the weather. If it is freezing in your area, please wait to order your plants. We will not replace frozen/cold damaged plants if no heat pack was purchased!

-We recommend adding a heat pack to your order if temperatures between Sarasota, FL and your location are 45F or lower! If temperatures are below 15F, the heat pack will fail. You're likely better off waiting to order or ask us to hold the order until a specified date.

-One heat pack is sufficient for up to 6 (six) plants. When adding a heat pack to your order, if your plant arrives with cold damage, we will refund or replace the damaged plants! Please send us a photo of the plants in question asap to support [!at] paradisefoundnursery.com

ALL ORDERS/GROWER'S CHOICE:
-We are unable to accommodate the request for individual photos.

-Photos in the listings unless otherwise specified are representative of the plant that will be sent to you. Each plant may vary slightly in shape, size, growth pattern, etc. as they are all individuals like you and me! As always if you receive a plant that you are dissatisfied with please reach out to us within 7 days of receipt. All plants are hand selected by our team, we pick out the biggest and best in stock! Smaller plants like seedlings may be shipped in pot at our discretion

-Please pot up and water your plant right away, no matter what species! Shipping is traumatic for a plant, even a cast iron succulent!!! They may drop leaves in transit which is to be expected! If you have concerns please reach out to us!

-If you have a problem with your order, please reach out to us within 7 days of receiving your order. Please provide photos of the plants in question.
at support [!at] paradisefoundnursery.com.

If you’re local to Sarasota, FL and would like to pick up your plants at the nursery instead of having us ship them, please leave a note with your order of when you would like to pick up your order. Additionally, you may schedule an appointment to shop the nursery here: https://www.paradisefoundnursery.com/pages/book-an-appointment

DORMANCY:
-Please note some of these plants will go dormant and drop their leaves during different seasons. I will not send you a dead plant. If there are no leaves, it is likely dormant or has dropped leaves as a stress response to being shipped, but please send us a photo if you have questions or concerns.
When plants are put in a stressful situation, which includes being bare rooted and put in a dark box for a few days, it is going to conserve as much energy as it can. It does this by dropping its leaves. Once it arrives, please pot it up, give it a good drink, and keep it in a shady area for about a week while it starts to recover. You should see new leaf growth within 1-2 weeks. If you have any questions about this plant’s care please reach out to us at the website chat, Facebook, Instagram, or support [!at] paradisefoundnursery.com.

SHIPPING:
-We only ship Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Occasionally we will ship to FL, TX, LA, GA on Thursdays. This is to ensure plants don't sit in a warehouse over the weekend.

-These plants will be shipped bare root unless specified otherwise. Your plant will be carefully wrapped with a label in either newsprint, eco friendly packing peanuts, bubble wrap, or a combination. Please be ready to pot your plants as soon as you get them. And water them thoroughly, you want the soil to be fully saturated.

-If you are concerned about high temperatures, keep in mind during the summer our greenhouses regularly reach temperatures of at least 100F, if not higher. Of course if your plant arrives with heat damage please send us photos within 7 days of delivery date.

-Most of these plants' roots will be dried. Shipping a damp, wet plant can sometimes cause you to receive a mushy ball of rot. I will wrap the plant in a moist towel and sealer if the species is one that needs it during shipping.

- Please read the descriptions of each plant you are purchasing. Sometimes I include a picture of a specimen sized plant so you understand what your plant will become. I will indicate in the description which plant is the specimen plant but usually it is pretty obvious.

-Any measurement refers to pot size, unless otherwise stated. A 4" pot size is exactly that - a plant big enough to grow happily in a 4" pot. It does not mean a 4" tall plant. When referring to gallons, these are nursery gallons. Not standard gallons! When you pot up your plant, the goal is not to put it into as small of a pot as possible (unless you're going for specific bonsai growth). You want to give adequate space for the roots to grow in a bit, but not too large that the soil stays saturated on you plant's roots. Generally a pot about an inch larger than the root ball is sufficient!
4" pot= pint (0.5 quart)
5-6" pot = quart (0.25 gallon)
7-8" pot= 1 gallon
8.5" pot = 2 gallon
10" pot = 3 gallon
12" pot = 5 gallon

-If you are unsatisfied, please contact me before giving a bad review. I am extremely reasonable and will work with you. No returns after 7 days! A bad review is a scar forever, but reaching out to me may leave you with more than you ever asked for! Remember, you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.

Frequently asked questions

My package says delivered, but I haven't received it! What do I do?

First, just wait a few days. The USPS is known to scan things as "delivered" prematurely. Check with your neighbors, check around your yard, check with family members. Make sure your address was correct on the order. Next, call or visit your local post office with your tracking number and they can use GPS to locate it. ONLY your local post office can do this! Worse comes to worse, you can try filing a claim with USPS but they usually do not approve claims where tracking states delivered. I cannot refund an order that states it was delivered, nor can I replace it. If I did this every time, there'd be no more nursery to send you cool stuff!

My tree's leaves all turned yellow and dropped! Is it dying/dead?

It's neither dying nor dead -- this is a very normal shock reaction to being pulled from a pot, wrapped up and shipped in a dark box. These trees shed leaves because leaves are nonessential for survival in the short term, and are very costly in water and energy to produce. So, they dump the leaves and wait for the trauma to end - you can help this process by immediately potting it, watering it, keeping it in the shade for at least a week. It's now your job to convince your tree that it's safe!

Why is it saying I can’t buy certain plants??

Etsy has decided to punish LICENSED AND PERMITTED SELLERS after being pressured by the IUCN to crack down on plant selling regulations. Their lazy attempt is to implement a useless algorithm that flags listings INSTEAD of doing the work to gather proper permits from sellers and create a network of legal sales.
