We're a purveyor of fine wigs & hairpieces and our shop has been serving the Tampa Bay area since 1970...basically we know our hair and wigs very very well :) Our inspiration for being on Etsy is to prove that yes, you can have a stylish high quality wig that is ready to wear right out of the box at a fair and decent price. If hair quality is important to you, don't just take anyone else's word for it...instead, trust our 45 years of experience to deliver it straight to your doorstep!

We're a traditional brick and mortar wig salon and shop, but out of our 1000 strong collection of wigs, we have put a select number of only the best, brand new wigs up for sale here on Etsy, wigs that we have taken the time to cut, style, clean, alter, and condition by hand to bring you that fresh out of the salon look! We're very selective about what wigs we put up for sale, carefully combing over (no pun intended) many various sources to select only the highest quality and then providing the cut, alteration, and finishing for our customers - it's a great part of the reason why we've been in business so long. However, despite the utmost care we put in before shipment, we will always stand by our belief that the best way to purchase a wig would be to come in person to visit our shop! Even if you don't, you will not received a wig that is ever used, dirty, tangled or scrunched up beyond recognition like you do when ordering from many other online drop-ship retailers.

We aim to protect customers such as yourself, assuring that only brand new wigs are received. We highly recommend visiting our shop in person or a local full service wig salon in person as the best optimal way to purchase a wig, as the wigs available in our online shop are for sale only for the purpose of convenience, lacking the full service of a salon or shop. Please verify all purchases before checking out, as we are not responsible for customer ordering errors including wrong shipping addresses that were provided.

If a package happens to get returned to our shop because it was unclaimed by the buyer after the maximum delivery attempts were made after the initial delivery attempt, or if the courier reported that the buyer outright rejected or refused delivery, the original purchase price will be refunded, less a 30% Restocking Fee, and less the original shipping charges, provided that the returned package is received by our shop in its original unopened condition AND clears our sanitary inspection. We will absolutely not refund any purchase and will return to sender at the buyer's expense if a buyer ignores this policy and returns a wig without any prior communication(e.g. via Convos, Emails). Paramount Wigs and its affiliates reserve the right to refuse service and reject any future orders from customers who have previously refused our shipments in this fashion or returned without any authorization and communication.

For international purchases:
The same domestic policy applies, but if a package is returned to our shop because it was unclaimed by the buyer, rejected or refused by the buyer, or because the buyer refused to pay the customs duties, taxes, or handling fees due, the original purchase price will be refunded, less a 30% Restocking Fee, less any customs charges, and less the original shipping charges, provided that the returned package is received by our shop in its original unopened condition and clears our sanitary inspection. Circumference sizes and wig lengths are listed for each wig, and the customer is responsible for ensuring that their head measurements meets the listed sizes, as the display mannequins are NOT representative of the average human head size. Human head sizes vary and wearers must take their own hair's length AND thickness into account, along with any and all contour and curvature variations of their own head. Wearing wigs outside the listed circumference range will lead to an improper fit and shorter length than listed - As a result, Paramount Wigs is also not responsible for improper fits. If this is a concern, again, it is strongly advised that customers visit their nearest full service wig shop or salon instead of buying wigs and hair online, especially if making a wig purchase for the very first time. For hair extension supplies, purchases by only experienced professional licensed hair stylists or cosmetologists are recommended and Paramount Wigs and its associates do not take responsibility for misuse, damage, incorrect color choices, or improper installations. *******FAQ*******


- This wig doesn’t fit or feel right, is something wrong with the wig? Why is my wig too big/small and doesn't fit/look as shown on the mannequin?

First, please note the mannequin by no means represents the actual human head, all actual human head sizes vary! This is why we have listed the head size circumferences in each listing. If you don’t have a lot of experience with wigs, 9 times out of 10 you are wearing the wig incorrectly. 1 time out of 10, your head either exceeded or did not meet the measurements as listed on the listing (due to skull size or due to having really long and thick hair). It is recommended that you watch YouTube clips to learn how to use a stocking cap, tuck away your real hair, and align the wig to your head to put it on. Generally, the rule of thumb is that you use the tag at the back of the interior wig cap as a guide as it signifies the true middle of the wig. Never use the hair part as a guide to wear the wig. Also, unless listed otherwise, nearly all wigs are made with a standard one-size-fits-all sizing, it’s rare to have a wig that truly won’t fit. (We will also note in the wig listing if wig is more suitable for petite size heads.)
If your wig came with elastic straps, please unhook them and re-hook them into the slots that would allow a tighter or looser fit for your head.



- The wig looks off on me and “wiggy”, is something wrong with the wig? And how come my wig came with a center part when the mannequin displayed a side part?

Again, most likely the wig is being worn incorrectly. Over the years our business has been in operation, we often receive complaints from brand new wig wearers who believe the wig is defective when in all cases, it’s just not being worn correctly at all. You must ensure that your wig matches up with your hairline and that the wig is not too far below or above your hairline. ...And most importantly do not center the wig using the hair part as guide! Center the wig on your head based on the tag (or center two hook slots) at the back of the interior wig cap. Please feel free to also visit YouTube for tutorials on how to wear a wig and a stocking cap if you require more information.



- I got one of those finger wave wigs, but the part is down the middle instead of the side as shown. What gives?

Again, the wig is being worn incorrectly. Look underneath the wig, find the tag at the back of the cap. That tag signifies the true center of the wig. (You can verify this by taking tape measure from the tag to the front of the wig and you will see that the hair part is to the side of the tape measure) Use that tag as a guide when putting on the wig, making sure the tag ends up at the center of the back of your head. If done correctly, the wig will look as shown on the mannequin.



- I liked the finger wave wig, even though it came with a middle part...

- Is it okay if comb/brush out the finger wave wig?

DO NOT comb it or shake it out, as it will likely ruin the style. We are not responsible for any negative results you experience if you disregard our warning. We also warn against this our listings for the fingerwave wigs.


- I got your fingerwave wig but it didn't look good after i shook it out...

...Why did you do so when our listing specifically warned you not to do that?


- I tied up my hair, but my hair is sticking up in my stocking cap preventing my wig from staying on! What should I do?

The best thing to do at first, is NOT to tie up your hair with anything! Pull your hair back as tight as you can when you put on the stocking cap. Tuck, roll and bundle the rest of your hair into the back of the stocking cap and keep it flat and low against the back of your head and neck. Again, do not make it into a bun or knot and do not use hair ties. This is the best way to ensure that your hair won't stick up through the cap.



- My own hair is very long and thick. Will the wig fit if I use a stocking cap?

If this is the case, we advise you to measure the circumference of your head with your hair bundled in a stocking cap as described in the answer above, and see if your head circumference still falls within the circumference measurements of the listing.



- Why does my wig look lighter/darker than the picture?

If you are very particular about the color, we suggest visiting a local wig retail shop instead of purchasing online. If you are local to the Tampa Bay area in Florida, you can come visit us at 904 N. Franklin St. Tampa, FL 33602. Colors online can vary due to many reasons such as lighting or varying computer monitor/screen display color settings. We cannot be held responsible if the color you received doesn’t exactly match the shade of color in the photo as displayed by your monitor or viewing device.



- Well, I might as well go to a local shop!

We actually encourage that you do so, especially if the shop is local to you! As we've been in business for over 45 years, buying a wig in-person at a local wig shop (not a beauty supply shop) will always be the best wig shopping option over buying online hands down, especially if the shop has an experienced and knowledgeable stylist who readily knows what colors and styles would be a great match for your head while steering you into the right direction. Be respectful to the staff, and understand that they may have rules and fees as far as try-ons go due to sanitary issues. Also, if you are very particular about color, visiting a wig shop will give you the best accuracy as far as colors go. Colors can vary due to different lighting conditions and it is virtually impossible to account for every lighting condition when buying a wig online. And if you happen to be in the Tampa Bay area, feel free to stop by our shop! Shopping for a wig is unlike buying a pair of shoes or article of clothing, since you are essentially looking to replace a very personal part of yourself (your hair). You must treat buying a wig as if you are actually going to a salon to get your hair style changed. Meaning, you must have a clear and concrete idea of what hairstyle you desire! Without that clear picture in your head, even browsing in a brick an mortar shop will likely become a fruitless endeavor.



- Hey, I wore my wig for six months to a year every single day and it doesn't look good any more. What gives and what are you going to do about it?

...if you deliberately wear one shirt every day of the week will it look as good when you first purchased it? Most likely not! Wigs, like clothing, are made of fibers that can wear out over time and use. Colors fade and the fibers get worn. How well you maintain the wigs also factors into their longevity. Like clothing, wigs eventually need to be replaced.



- Are all your wigs heat resistant or heat safe?

If you see one of our listings that explicitly states that it is heat resistant, yes, it is heat resistant. If the listing does not state that the wig is heat resistant, then no, it is not heat resistant. For your convenience, we have categorized heat safe wigs into their own sections.



- I bought a heat resistant wig and used my curling iron to curl it but it's not working. What should I do?

First be sure the temperature is set at around 300-350 F. After you make the curl with the curling iron, catch and hold the curl in your hand (at where the curling iron was) for 10 seconds after you take away the curling iron. This is important to allow the curls to set and take shape! Alternatively you can use hot rollers to make the curls if you're having difficulty with the curling iron.



- I bought a wig that is NOT heat resistant, is it at all possible to use heated styling tools?

Unfortunately not. For non-heat resistant wigs, use of heat will warp the fibers and ruin the wig, so please do not use heated styling tools such as curling irons or flat irons. Also, please do not leave your wig in a hot car and avoid kitchen work if open flames or a hot oven is involved...opening that oven to check on the cookies will likely be the end of your fine wig!



- How do I clean and store the wig?

You can buy wig cleaner at a beauty supply store or an online retailer. These are shampoos that are made specifically for wigs and we very highly recommend the brands HairUWear or Henry Margu for the best results. It is not recommended to use your own shampoo and conditioner on your wig as the results will be poor. When you’re not wearing the wig, it is best to store it on a wig head or stand which can be easily purchased online or at a beauty supply store. Please message us if you require detailed wash and care instructions.



- How do I prevent the wig from falling off my head?

If you’re new to wigs it definitely takes some time to adjust to it and overcome the fear of it falling off. First, if the wig has adjustable straps, be sure that they are tightened to your head size. Wearing a stocking or a mesh wig cap can help and you can also buy double sided wig tape. Strategically placed bobby pins on the sides of your head are a great method too. YouTube will have tutorials on this subject.



- I actually want my package shipped via Express even though it's a holiday, is it possible?

USPS is closed on all Federal holidays. We will on only consider shipping via FedEx on President's Day, Columbus Day, and Veterans Day. Message us for a quote on those specified Federal holidays before ordering.



- USPS or FedEx? Which one is worth it?

If detailed point by point tracking and firm shipping time frames are important to you, FedEx would be the choice for you. Otherwise USPS provides great value for the service they provide and can be speedy in their own right when it comes to their First Class or 2-3 day Priority Mail services. USPS also has the advantage of being able to deliver on a Saturday without a hefty surcharge. So for instance, USPS Priority could be a better choice over FedEx 2Day, if ordering on a Thursday as you will get your package on Saturday instead of the following Monday. However, USPS doesn't guarantee standard First Class or regular Priority Mail (2-3 Day) delivery dates and can't be held accountable for any delays that may occur. Overall though, neither are immune to delays or mistakes. After you consider the above, pick the service that best fits your budget and situation, and left you with the best overall impression based on their past service.



- Will you offer FedEx for international customers?

We offer UPS Worldwide Express which will see your package delivered in 1-3 days.



- Which US Federal Holidays is your shop open on?

President's Day, Columbus Day, and Veterans Day.



- I got a bill in the mail from Customs saying I have to pay a VAT (or sales tax) plus a handling charge for brokerage. Why didn't your prices include them?

Our policies are very clear on this subject (See Payment Policy and Shipping Policy above). In every listing, we ask all buyers to read our shop policies before purchasing. The buyer is ultimately responsible for any VAT, handling fees, and duties their government's customs and postal agencies charges them. It is the buyer's responsibility to verify these costs with their customs and postal agencies before purchasing. VAT is not included in the prices as Paramount Wigs is not legally authorized to collect taxes, handling fees, or duties on the behalf of any foreign government agency. With any international purchase in general, one has to automatically expect to be charged a tax by their country's customs agency. Claiming ignorance on this issue is not a valid reason for a refund or reimbursement. Paramount Wigs will reject and deny all such requests. We also will not alter any customs forms to avoid taxation as this practice is illegal. Buyers must settle disputes regarding taxation and duties with the appropriate government agency in their country.



- Hi, I'm from Canada, and was wondering why you don't offer UPS Ground or Fedex Ground?

We do not offer it as customs brokerage fees are very high for UPS/FedEx Ground delivery which negates any cost savings versus our 1-3 Day UPS Worldwide option. Because of this, we encourage you to select UPS Worldwide Express (1-3 day delivery) if you require expedited shipping as it's a bit of a better deal for the price we offer and with less hassel...plus there will be no additional customs brokerage fees to pay with this service, just the sales taxes you owe to the Canadian provincial government which you must pay to the UPS delivery employee upon receiving your package.



- i live in Europe and the VAT is high and my post office will charge me a high brokerage fee! And plus I have to wait a very long time for Customs clearance and sometimes they send my package back. Can you please mark as gift or declare a lower value in customs?

Intentionally falsifying customs forms is a very bad idea as it is illegal to do so and punishable with large fines. Post offices can hold your package and ask you to bring your invoice to a customs agent for verification before releasing your package. So this is something we cannot do for you. However, we understand the frustration with high brokerage fees, VAT and long wait times, so we HIGHLY recommend that you choose 1-3 Day UPS Worldwide shipping at checkout . Although the price is higher, you get no brokerage fees, no holding for invoice, and you pay just the taxes that are due(if any). You will also receive the package very quickly making this option a better value for your situation.


- I really don't like the wig, can I return the wig?

We cannot accept returns mostly because doing so will likely put us at risk of violating local Florida health codes and cosmetology regulations. Federal OSHA standards will also be violated if any disease or parasite caused by accepting a wig return happens to cause harm to our employees. We also want to protect customers and ensure that they receive only new wigs.



- Will you accept partial payments?

No.



- Will you take my best (lowball) offer? I'll give you $xx.xx for that wig!


No. If you want a seller to entertain your best offer, please visit Ebay or Poshmark as those avenues are better suited to accommodate those requests. We will not respond to such inquiries.



- Will you buy my locks of human hair or accept a donation of hair?

No. We recommend finding a local charity that will do so.



- Will you give me a free wig so I can review it on my blog or YouTube? I have a huge viewer and fan base!

No, as we do not work for free and do not want to be seen as influencing any reviews. This is also against Etsy Terms of Use and you risk account termination. - Do you accept checks, e-checks, cashier's check, cash, money orders, or bitcoin?

No, we accept only payments made through Etsy Direct Checkout or Paypal (non-echeck).


-Why did you charge me sales tax?

We collect sales tax on all purchases made within the state of Florida. So if your shipping address is in Florida, you can expect to pay 7% in sales tax at checkout. As we are a licensed business in the state of Florida, we will not honor your request to evade state taxes. If other Etsy sellers are waiving their state's sales taxes for you, they do so at their own risk. Also, Etsy may also collect sales tax on your state's behalf and charge the appropriate sales tax rate for your state.


- I forgot to add an item/shipping upgrade, can you go ahead and charge my card on file?

We do not store customers' credit card numbers at all. Etsy Direct Checkout or PayPal is responsible for all payment processing. You will have to place an additional order or message us so that we can make arrangements for you to purchase the item/upgrade you want.



- Will you have this certain wig I like in stock for the next __weeks?

What you see in stock is what we have presently, but we will check to see if we can have more ready for you if requested.
