The birth of a boutique photography company
Parchment Moon Prints boasts a library of nearly 100,000 photographs taken by three photographers -- Deb Richardson (me), Rob Campbell (my husband), and Dennis Richardson (my Dad) -- over the course of the past 65 years. We are now endeavouring to bring the best of the best of those images to you in the form of fine art photography prints and blank cards appropriate for all occasions.
I grew up surrounded by cameras -- my Dad was an avid semi-pro photographer who always seemed to have one of his Nikons close to hand.
The first camera came into my life when I was 15, when I bought a second-hand Fujica 35mm film camera with a single 50mm lens. It cost $110 and, naturally, my Dad taught me how to use it. It was the only camera I used for ten years, and I took it everywhere.
Since then I've owned more cameras than I could name, and, like my Dad, I always have one close to hand. I've also married a photographer who has also been an avid lifelong photographer. Most recently, I inherited my Dad's complete photo archives, stretching back into the early 1960s.
Our image selection is extremely diverse, reflecting our growth as photographers over the decades and our differing specializations. Where I am fascinated by the very small, taking extreme close up photographs and finding beauty in the tiniest of things, my husband is fascinated by the very large, with a growing library of astrophotography and high-altitude drone photography. We're all nature and architecture photographers, and my Dad's library includes a huge number of vintage modelling images and fantastic "day in the life" snaps from the 60s and 70s.
Over the next few years we'll be rummaging through our archives and making thousands of our best images available to you, while continuing to push ourselves as photographers and growing our library. Our hope is to have images available for all needs, and I hope you love them all as much as we do!
When my Dad passed away, I took some time to pause and reflect. The result is Parchment Moon -- a boutique photography company where we specialize in creating beautiful, original and professional quality prints for your home and blank photo cards for all occasions.
Please contact us if you have any questions or would like to discuss a special order. We're always happy to chat!
My goal is to create accessible and affordable art that helps people reconnect with the serenity and importance in nature and the natural world.
