All vintage posters in this shop are either documented public domain works or licensed under Creative Commons CC-BY 4.0. The original artists were working professionals of the nineteenth and early-to-mid twentieth centuries whose works have long since entered the public domain under EU and international copyright law, which recognises expiry 70 years after the author's death. We celebrate and preserve these works as part of our shared artistic heritage. We sell art that appreciates artists — not the brands or products that originally commissioned these works. I love vintage as well as a bit of social history and I'm passionate about vintage posters.
In today's fast world, it is easy to forget the times gone by, when life seemed more glamourous and relaxed, where people had time for each other and also time to appreciate the world.
I adore art works and love the way in which they can change an ordinary corner into a reading nook with just the right ambience. They can add elements of fun, mystery, glamour, colour to any space.
With that in mind I try my very best to bring you restored vintage posters that are printed fresh when you order. Major signs of wear and tear are removed and the colours are refreshed. Don't forget the orignal posters were vividly coloured so as to best catch the eye of potential customers. Which was confirmed in a recent documentary by the Musée d'Ordsay.
They are on high quality matte paper and rolled canvas. Our older prints are being gradually added to the canvas prints available, but all new additions to our shop are already available in matte paper or rolled canvas, to give you more choice.
