Received yesterday, very carefully packaged! The pattern is very detailed with instructions in English and seems accessible to sewers who are not beginners but have a little experience. Very satisfied.

I balked at the huge amount of Japanese post office charges due to !&#*%'s tariffs, but they kindly pointed out that marking as "gift" would reduce the charges. I am so excited to be able to make this dress modeled on Tove Jansson's working smock!

I am just finishing this dress. It's a simple construction, and I'm hopeful it will look good on me.

This is an easy dress to wear and make. So appreciate it’s a paper pattern. Must add seam allowances. Dress turned out totally as pictured. It’s a casual throw-on dress for me. Might shorten front bodice next time, but bodices side seams feature a curved shirt-tail hem so made as is to start. I added collar to No. 118, provided pattern piece. But standing collar as a collar stand needed to be enlarged. In fact, had to elongate collar and stand to fit neckline. But I always do for some reason. Shortened sleeves to 3/4. Otherwise, dress fits well, which is why I love Linnet and Japanese patterns in general. Because I am only 5 feet and don’t weigh much. Made a medium. Probably could have made a small. So glad shipping costs from Japan have come down.
