Pattern n Stitch NZ (“I”, “me”, “my”, or “the Shop”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information I may collect, how I use it, and the circumstances in which it may be shared when you purchase from or interact with my Etsy shop, Pattern n Stitch NZ, or sign up to receive a free sewing pattern, printable, newsletter or other resource.

WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION I COLLECT

When you purchase from my Etsy shop, Etsy provides me with certain information necessary to fulfil your order and provide customer service. This may include:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your Etsy username or profile information
• Your order details
• Information you provide in Etsy Messages
• Any other information you voluntarily provide to me in connection with your order or enquiry

For digital products, I generally do not need your physical address. Etsy may collect and process additional information in accordance with Etsy's own Privacy Policy.

If you choose to sign up to receive a free sewing pattern, printable, newsletter or other free resource from Pattern n Stitch NZ, I may collect:

• Your email address
• Your name, if you choose to provide it
• Any other information you voluntarily provide through the sign-up form

HOW I USE YOUR INFORMATION

I use your personal information only when reasonably necessary to:

• Fulfil and provide access to your Etsy order
• Provide customer service and respond to your messages
• Help resolve problems with your order
• Provide technical support relating to digital files
• Send you the free sewing pattern, printable or other resource you requested
• Send you newsletters, sewing inspiration, new product announcements, special offers and other marketing communications where you have subscribed or otherwise provided consent
• Comply with my legal, tax and accounting obligations
• Protect my legal rights and prevent fraud or misuse

I do not use your personal information to send you unsolicited marketing emails where consent is required.

EMAIL NEWSLETTER AND FREE SEWING PATTERN

If you choose to sign up to receive a free sewing pattern, freebie, or other promotional resource from Pattern n Stitch NZ, you may be asked to provide your email address and, where applicable, your name.

By signing up, you may receive:

• The free sewing pattern or other resource requested
• Occasional emails about new sewing patterns, creative projects, shop updates, special offers, and other relevant content from Pattern n Stitch NZ

Your email address will be collected and managed using Mailchimp, an email marketing and automation service provided by The Rocket Science Group LLC, a subsidiary of Intuit Inc.

Your information may be processed by Mailchimp in accordance with its own privacy policy and may be processed in countries outside New Zealand.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link included in the emails you receive. After unsubscribing, you will no longer receive marketing emails from that mailing list, although I may still contact you where necessary regarding a purchase, customer service enquiry, or other legitimate business matter.

I will not sell or rent your email address to third parties.

Your email address will be retained for as long as you remain subscribed to the relevant mailing list, or for as long as reasonably necessary for legitimate business and legal purposes. If you unsubscribe, your information may be retained on a suppression or unsubscribe list to ensure that you are not accidentally sent future marketing emails.

SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

I share personal information only when necessary to operate my Etsy shop, fulfil your order, provide customer service, manage my email newsletter, or comply with legal obligations.

Your information may be processed by:

• Etsy, which operates the marketplace and payment services through which your purchase is made
• Mailchimp, which I use to manage email subscribers and send newsletters and marketing communications
• Service providers or platforms used by Etsy or Mailchimp to provide their services
• Professional advisers or authorities where disclosure is required by law

I do not sell your personal information.

Please note that Etsy, Mailchimp and their service providers may process personal information in countries outside New Zealand. Etsy's and Mailchimp's own privacy practices and policies apply to the information they collect and process directly.

DATA RETENTION

I retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to:

• Provide customer service
• Maintain business records
• Comply with legal and tax obligations
• Resolve disputes
• Protect my legal rights
• Maintain email unsubscribe and suppression records

When personal information is no longer reasonably required, I will take reasonable steps to securely delete or destroy it.

I take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or destruction.

However, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

My shop is not directed at children under the age of 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children for marketing purposes.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information to me, please contact me through Etsy Messages.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

My business uses third-party platforms, including Etsy and Mailchimp.

These platforms may collect and process personal information according to their own privacy policies and terms. I recommend reviewing the privacy policies of these services to understand how they handle personal information.

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to my business, Etsy's or Mailchimp's services, or applicable privacy laws.
