I love reconditioning and re-homing old Smocking Pleaters. It is wonderful to give them a new lease of life, so you can create beautiful heirlooms

Frequently asked questions
Will the pattern get to me dry?
YES - I always post my patterns in a ziplock plastic sleeve. This should keep most weather out.
Gift wrapping and packaging
Want gift wrapping? Not a problem - I can do that! Just choose the option during the checkout process. There is a fee of $5AUD for giftwrapping.
Have the patterns been checked?
YES! I check all of my patterns for missing pieces. If I find that anything is missing I will list it in the description, and it will appear on the "pattern check" photo.
Is everything in this store new?
NO. More than likely, everything in this shop is old, vintage and pre-loved. Most of the patterns were my Mother's - from 1940's through to modern day. I list the condition in the description, so please read it.
My smocking pleaters are always pre-loved, but my individual listings of needles are new.
The new things in my store are Smocking machine needles, embroidery needles, needle cases, bulb pins and scissors.
This yarn is discontinued. What do I do?
There are a couple of places you can go to online, to find out about yarn substitutes.
First of all, try Ravelry.com...
https://www.ravelry.com/yarns
This will tell you what the yarn was like. It may tell you an appropriate substitute. If it doesn't, then try entering the properties in the following website. It will tell you what brands you can purchase with those properties.
https://www.loveknitting.com.au/knitting-yarns?country=AU#?fiber_yarns=59&yarn_weight=375
(This was the link I used to find a particular Australian yarn substitute).
Are the smocking needles new, and genuine?
Yes! My smocking needles come from the Read factory (who also sell Sally Stanley). They are brand new and genuine brand name product.
