Hand crafted and made to order

My birds originated with a public art installation (and subsequent photograph) that I created called Ceiling of Black Birds. Once I figured out how to make a paper bird for the creation of the scene, I enjoyed it so much that I just kept making them. Over the years, I have made thousands of paper birds. Recently, I began experimenting with other materials and am now creating birds out of wood veneer. I enjoy using the different types of wood veneers to create unique patterns on each bird. I also like that they are functional and can live outside.
