Frequently asked questions

How bad is my chest? What should I do next?

For the purposes of this shop I can't offer any type of diagnosis, treatment, or recommendations. I do answer questions from time to time on the Reddit forum for Pectus Excavatum and on the Discord group.

How do I get you the files from my CT scan?

You can request a copy of your images from the facility (radiology center, hospital, etc.) where your CT scans were taken. Images are normally around 500 MB or so. There is usually a folder on the CD labelled "DICOM" which contains the files for the scan. This folder can then be uploaded to the file sharing service of your choice (Dropbox, Google Drive, GitHub, etc)

How can I be sure that the model is what I'm asking for?

An image of the 3D model for the skeleton and baseplate will be provided prior to starting the printing process. Once approval is given, the printing process will be started. Printing usually takes 1-2 days and post-processing another 1-2 days. Final photos of the model will be provided prior to shipping.

Custom and personalized orders

All models are custom made and personalized based on your imaging and the details you provide. I've created templates as listed with some baseline prices, but I'm always happy to discuss custom orders (I like a challenge).

Gift wrapping and packaging

Even when reinforced with epoxy resin, these models are fragile. They are packaged in foam casing to reduce the possibility of breakage during transport.
