Oh, Hello!
I’m Robin. I've been a graphic designer and copywriter for over 40 years!
I fell in love with creating graphics in college and have been kind of obsessed with it ever since. I worked at a print shop early on so I could learn how the whole process worked from the ground up—literally. This was before personal computers, so I learned how to run a small printing press and do camera work. I eventually opened my own design studio and spent most of my career working as a graphic artist and volunteering for causes I believe in.
After years of working for other people and doing 1:1 client work, I was tired. I’m great at taking someone else’s hopes, dreams, feelings, intentions, and words and creating something that captures the right vibe—it’s my superpower. But I wanted to do that for myself (and for you.)
Not every design I make has an inspirational message. Some are simply beautiful. Because sometimes beauty IS the message.
A few quirky facts:
• If it isn't obvious, I'm a boomer.
• I gave birth to my one and only child at 45 (best surprise ever).
• My husband and I helped start a music festival and it's still going strong over 30 years later.
• I once tapped President Nixon on the shoulder so I could take his picture (What Secret Service?)
• My dad was on the engineering team working on the first Apollo capsule & mission.
• I once stood on stage next to John Lasseter (founder of Pixar) while he pulled out one-of-a-kind Toy Story figurines and custom Hawaiian shirts with Pixar characters for an auction—and yes, I had a blast channeling my inner spokesmodel.
• I’m a gardener, big time. I spent over 10 years breeding and growing dwarf tomatoes, and I even have a tomato named after me. (Long story.) Every year, I grow flowers, photograph them, and then draw them during the long winter months.
