Perfectly Pinup is Now The Whimsical Tortoise !
I (Kellee) have been crafting my whole life.
16 years ago I quit my job when my son Cameron (age 5 at the time) was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. I started doing fund raisers for JDRF and decided to start making jewelry. It was at that time that I discovered polymer clay and quickly became addicted. I started buying all the books I could get my hands on to teach myself how to make a variety of items and opened a shop on Ebay to sell my handcrafted jewelry and polymer clay items.
About 8 years ago my daughter Lacey (aka Lacey Chiffon) saw a picture of Bettie Page in a book and she was hooked. She got Bettie bangs and began dressing in Pinup styles and learning through youtube tutorials about different hair styles and fashions. She asked me if I could make her some hair flowers and bows to go with her new style and people started asking her where they got them and where they could purchase them and that was where the idea of Perfectly Pinup started.
Lacey became my inspiration and model, We sold on Ebay for awhile but it tapered off after awhile not due to a lack of sales but a lot going on in our personal lives. Lacey graduated High school in 2015 and became very involved in the pinup community and even started her own pinup group - the Beehive Betties.
We are now selling in a local vintage style shop and at car shows, but decided we wanted to open an Etsy shop as well to share our designs with Many more people. We hope you love them !
In 2020 I made the Decision to change the shop to the Whimsical Tortoise.
